In February of this year, Olympian Gus Kenworthy rescued a puppy named Beemo from a South Korean dog meat farm while he was in the country competing at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics. On Sunday, the 26-year-old gold medalist took to his Instagram to share that Beemo had passed away.
“Two days ago my beautiful baby Beemo passed away. It was completely unexpected and Matt and I are beside ourselves trying to cope with her loss,” he said. Kenworthy shared the adorable pup with his boyfriend Matthew Wilkas.
“Beemo was truly the best thing that ever happened to me and I feel so fortunate for our borrowed time together,” Kenworthy continued. “I’ve never loved anything or anyone in the way that I loved that dog and she is and will always be deeply missed.”
