If you’ve been keeping up with Riverdale this season, you’ll know that Archie (KJ Apa) has gotten himself into some hot water.
A new extended promo for episode 5 promises that that water is going to start boiling over when the town’s resident redhead finds himself lip locking with fellow prison inmate, Joaquin DeSantos (Rob Raco).
In the new episode, titled “Great Escape,” Archie’s time behind bars may be short-lived when Veronica (Camila Mendes) shows up with a plan to bust him out. Meanwhile, Betty’s (Lili Reinhart) concern for Jughead (Cole Sprouse) grows as his obsession with Griffins & Gargoyles goes too far.
At Melbourne’s Oz Comic-Con earlier this year, Apa spoke about the possibility of a gay storyline for his character when questioned about Archie’s relationship with openly gay character, Kevin Kellar (Casey Cott).
“Love it, let’s go!” Apa said when asked about whether he’d consider a romantic storyline between the two.

Riverdale also stars Ashleigh Murray, Madelaine Petsch, Marisol Nichols, Mark Consuelos, Charles Melton, Vanessa Morgan, Madchen Amik, Luke Perry, and Skeet Ulrich.
