As Variety reports, the film “details the aftermath of lost work and being the subject of a federal investigation following the release of her now infamous photo depicting President Donald J Trump.”
The Grammy Award-winner also shared the news on her Instagram, telling her hundreds of thousands of followers, “I have some big news to share…my first ever comedy concert film is premiering at @sxsw !!!! It’s called “Kathy Griffin: Hell Of A Story” and I’m so excited to share it with all of you! Here’s a preview clip!”
Of course, almost everyone knows the backlash the legendary stand-up comedian has faced since a photo of her holding a mask of the US president’s face smeared with ketchup made international news.
After attracting the ire of “Individual 1″‘s fanatics, Griffin was fired from her New Year’s Eve gig on CNN — an event she’d been co-hosting for 10 years with then-bestie Anderson Cooper.

Never one to be held down, Griffin departed for a world tour, aptly named the Laugh Your Head Off World Tour, and visited 23 cities in 15 countries. She eventually returned to the US and made stops in San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, and even sold out New York’s Carnegie Hall.
