
If you’ve never heard of Jilly Cooper, Google her, I guess. If you have, let’s mark this one as officially canceled.
The 81-year-old romance novelist, probably best known for authoring the Rutshire Chronicles, went off on “modern men” at the Hay literary festival, saying, “Men cry all the time now. The whole time, always crying. And they have beards.” Cooper added that they’re “so terrified” of women that they’re turning to gay sex.

She went on to mention her “adorable gay friend” who had only recently started online dating after his partner passed away. “He’s just started going on the internet now and he said it is extraordinary,” Cooper said. “It is all married men wanting to have gay sex.”
“Do you think they are so terrified of women now it is safer to go with their own sex?” Cooper questioned, referencing the prominence of the Time’s Up and #MeToo movements.
